Photography is my love, really my love. I’ve been married and divorced, I have kids, I have a brilliant girlfriend and a dog who is a brilliant companion, I have fine parents, loving and kind and wonderfully supportive. I have friends I can trust, who make me laugh and make me feel good about myself.
But photography is my love.
It was way back in the 1970’s that I picked up my first camera, a Kodak Instamatic, 110 film and it was stolen by a pickpocket in Boulougne, just on the quayside.
I was around 10 years old.
Then there was the replacement, another Kodak Instamatic, 126 film format this time.
It then got serious, my first Nikon at the age of 12, an EM which I still have, I had a flirt with the dark side at the age of 16 and bought a Canon A1, but by this time I’d already become a trainee photographer, and had moved up a massive gear during my training.
Rollei 2.8f, Hasselblad 500CM and Linhof Technical, complete with the black cloth and dark slides.
The year 1980 and a year later, aged just 17, I shot my first solo wedding.
Photography is my love, always has been…
…always will be.
