For some time now I have been attending a monthly breakfast meeting at the wonderful Silk Mill in Whitchurch, Hampshire, but this was the first time I’d been asked to chair the meeting.
It was also the first time I’d been asked to talk on all things marketing and social media, or at least my experience of them when building the businesses, The Mobile Scanning Company and Solid Imagery.
We spoke about the do’s and don’ts of marketing, looking at whether tried and trusted methods such as leaflet drops and posters in Post Offices were really relevant anymore, we explored email marketing using Mailchimp and talked around the use of social media in business, in connecting with the estimated 2 billion social media users globally.
And we tied it all up discussing blogs and linking them to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn for maximum impact, and here we are, this blog, part of the process, the practical illustration I promised during the session, just to show how easy this all is.
It’s 46 minutes after the session ended, I have a blog typed, an image tagged to it and it has been uploaded once to my blog site, my Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts similtainiously.
Within that 46 minutes it has been globally spread to those 2 billion users.
One question when applying this to your business, why wouldn’t you?
